RESULTS and ANSWER KEY for GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #139 The teams of BARRY SILK, JENNY MCCAW, JOE HAERTEL and the GYPSY's CARAVAN both weathered GOLQ 139 to share first place with perfect 500++ scores. Three other entries just missed by one song. They were the ANTONIO TORRALBA, DOMINIC BEGG, BEN ROWDON, TUNDE team, the DELPHI TRIVIA CLUB, and RANDY PRICE. GOLQ veteran JAMIE LUBIN, newcomer JORGE ROLDAN, and the COASTERS also had excellent scores. The weather-related theme, which was identified by just about everyone, was apparently as helpful as it was intended to be. The average score was 328, and well over half of the teams were able to score at least 300. Bob and Marc have already posted GOLQ 140. Thanks to all for entering, and I will see you in a later quiz. -- Rich Ardini _____________________________________________________________________________ After each score below are two characters representing the two tie-breakers: A "+" indicates a tie-breaker answered correctly; a "-" indicates partial credit; an "x" indicates a totally incorrect guess; a "." indicates no guess. The third number on the line denotes the average number of points scored on that song (total points divided by the number of entrants, to 1 decimal place). Both T1 and T2 scored relatively high for tie-breakers, although I didn't expect T2 to be quite that well-known. For some reason, I thought #14, #22 and #24 would score higher than they did, and I didn't expect #02 to score as high as it did. _____________________
