RESULTS AND ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #196

The VILLAGE IDIOTS and the DELPHI TRIVIA CLUB tied for first with perfect
scores. RANDY PRICE and PETER MORLEY and the team of BARRY SILK, JENNY
McCAW and SCOOTER MAGRUDER came in third and fourth with perfect charted
songs, but missing tie-breakers. The COASTERS came in fifth.

I put the quiz together soon after seeing "A Mighty Wind", which influenced
a few of the selections. There were more obscure songs than usual and that
made this quiz a little more difficult than recent GOLQs.

The average score on this quiz was 330 and the median was 340.

GOLQ197 has already been posted.

Thanks to all who entered!

This chart ranks the songs/artists from most recognized to least recognized.
The 2nd number on the line denotes the average number of points scored on that
song (total points divided by number of entrants). For
comparison purposes, tie-breakers are scored here on the usual 20-point scale
(as if it really matters since no one identified either one).
