RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #454 (GOLQ454)
There was a seven-way tie for first place. Congratulations to Coasters (first to
submit an entry), Mike Weaver, Will McCorry, The EJs & Co., Village Idiots,
Tri-State Trivia and Delphi Trivia Club all with perfect scores. Barry Silk and
Virve Juopperi were close behind. The theme that tied the lesser-charting songs
together was British Invasion songs. The average score was 455. Nine songs were
identified by all teams.
Teams that submitted Puzzler answers are Barry Silk, Team Teitellion and Will
McCorry. The complete Puzzler solution is below. And thanks to Bob Bluestein for
continuing to provide these puzzlers.
And a sad note. Record Research, publishers of the Joel Whitburn Top Pop Singles
book that has been a staple of this quiz since its beginning, is ending its
hard-cover book business. Some of you may have been receiving the same emails
from them as I have. Many of their Billboard chart books will still be available
as ebooks, but if you want any of their hard-cover editions, you need to order
one now before their inventory runs out.
