GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #207 (GOLQ207)
Welcome, oldies fans, to GOLQ207!
Many of the singles in this quiz reached the top 10 on the pop charts;
I hope this makes for an easier quiz. To make up for this, however, the
Puzzler (optional, as always) is very hard! Comments on the songs,
artists, and quiz in general are encouraged with your entry.
Thought for the month:
It was 40 YEARS AGO this week that The Beatles had 12 singles on the
Billboard Top 100 chart, including ALL of the top 5: "Can't Buy Me Love,"
"Twist And Shout," "She Loves You," "I Want To Hold Your Hand," and
"Please Please Me." Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da ... my, but tempus fugit!
Blindly searching for lyrics on the Internet is not in the spirit of
the GOLQs, and we disapprove of this practice.

This Puzzler contains 26 clues whose answers are all pop songs. After
identifying a song, you must determine the artist associated with the
sole top-10 1955-1969 version of it and the letter under which that
artist is alphabetized. For example, if an answer were "I Second That
Emotion," then the artist would be "Smokey Robinson & the Miracles,"
and the letter would be R.
As you discover these letters, string them together in clue order to
finish this rock 'n' roll quote:

You should ignore punctuation and capitalization in all clues. There
are three varieties of clue, and there are eight or nine clues of each
type. You will have to figure out the type of each clue. The three
