GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #209 (GOLQ209)

Welcome to GOLQ 209, courtesy of The NAVAIRHEADS. This GOLQ contains no
specific themes. Goal is to provide a mix of memorable lyrics offset by a
few stumpers. Enjoy.

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #209
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
            Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4), Wednesday, June 30, 2004
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've heard some talk
They say you think I'm fine
#01)

I wish I were glass
So you could see through
Then you'd know before you ask
#02)

Now you got a boyfriend down the street,
Baby, whatcha tryin' to do
#03)

Arms have I, strong as the oak, for this occasion
#04)

When your heartaches seem to hang around too long
And your blues keep getting bluer with each song
#05)

If I called out your name like a prayer at night
Would you leave me alone with my tears?
#06)

Is it any wonder that I feel so blue
When I know for certain that I'm losing you
#07)

I try to put my arms around you
All because I wanna hold you tight
#08)

I know we've had a quarrel, but all sweethearts do
I gave my love to prove to you
That I would always love you and be true
#09)

Forget the fellas at the candy store
'Cause you ain't gonna see 'em anymore
#10)

I don't need a fortune teller
I don't need a crystal ball
#11)

And I wish my head had been working right
We'd have gone for coffee and talked all night
#12)

Do they take 'em for expresso, yeah, I guess so
On each lover's arm a girl I wish I knew
#13)

Ah, but now I see the light
And everything's gonna be alright, baby
#14)

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes
#15)

My heart was breaking, which one would it be
You turned around and walked away with me
#16)

Five feet of heaven in a pony tail
#17)

This time it's real
And I want you to know exactly how I feel
#18)

So if you don't think I'm gonna try
You better ask yourself the reason why
#19)

Is this the way our romance ends?
I got the message when you said we could be friends
My love was true
#20)

It's so quiet in the street
You can hear the sound of feet walking by
I'll put the coffee on to brew
We can have a cup or two
#21)

My girlfriend Betty tells me he's lazy
But I know Betty loves him like crazy
#22)

If good looks was a minute
You know that you would be an hour
#23)

Nothing you can do 'cause I'm stuck like glue
#24)

Jimmy was your sweetie pie, your precious one
And I know you used to love the very ground he walked upon
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

And I will show you blood on the stone
And I will be your mentor
And night will be our darling
And fear will be our name
It's hi, ho, hey
#T1)

TV dinner by the pool
Watch your brother grow a beard
Got another year of school
You're okay he's too weird
#T2)
