GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #217 (GOLQ217)

Welcome to GOLQ 217, courtesy of the NAVAIRHEADS. No special themes are
intended. Many of the songs have been used before (not many left that
haven't been used, especially for top 10 and top 20 songs), but we still
found a few first timers.

Enjoy!

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #217
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
            Due 5:00 p.m. EST (GMT-5), Monday, February 28, 2005
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never seen this side of you before, til now
I never knew that you could feel this way, til now
After all the time we spent together
#01)

Don't want the world to have and hold
For fame is not my line
#02)

So blow, you old Blue Northern,
Blow my love to me
He's driving in tonight from California
#03)

And if you say goodbye
Then I know that I would cry
Maybe I would die
#04)

Her eye was black, her face was red, her hair was a fright
She looked as though she'd been a-cryin' half of the night
I told her I was sorry, she said, “Get out of sight!”
#05)

Though we leave in sorrow
All the joys we've known
We can face tomorrow
Knowing we'll never walk alone
#06)

A distant bell and stars that fell
Like the rain out of the blue
#07)

When the truth is found to be lies
#08)

Think it over and be sure
Please don't answer till you do
#09)

You start my heart a-thumpin'
You sure have started somethin'
#10)

And I hope you're satisfied, you rascal, you
#11)

I'm so tired of getting nowhere
All my prayers going unanswered
#12)

We walked together hand in hand
‘Cross miles and miles of golden sand
But now it's over and done
#13)

I don't seem to mind somehow
Playing second fiddle now
Someday you'll want me, Dear
And when that day is here
#14)

Goin' up, goin' down
Goin' up, down, down, up, any way you wanna let it roll
#15)

Some day some old familiar rain will come along and know my name
And then my shelter will be gone and I'll have to move along
But ‘til I do I'll stay awhile
And track the hidden country of your smile
#16)

Now sit yourself down
I'm not afraid to get down on the ground
And beg, beg you to stay
#17)

Come on, baby, let's close the door
Come on, baby, let's sweat some more
#18)

Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
#19)

Please say that you're in love, in love with me
Don't let me lead this life, this life of misery
#20)

Then she turned around to me with that gleam in her eye
She said I'm sorry if I passed you by
#21)

I try to drum up a phrase that will sum up
All that I feel for you
But what good are phrases
#22)

I've waited, but I'll wait forever
For you to come to me
#23)

So run to him before you start crying, too
#24)

As I sit here in the gloom of my cold and lonely room
How my heart is filled with fears and my eyes are filled with tears
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

God bless the master of this house, and the mistress also
And all the little children that round your table grow.
The cattle in your stable and the dog by your front door
And all that dwell within your gates
We wish you ten times more
#T1)

Whaddya doin' on Friday night?
Can it be done by two?
Whaddya doin' on Saturday night?
Can I come over and spend a little while with you? Oh,
Honey, I have to let you know
Baby, how I love you so
#T2)
