                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #229
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
           Due 5:00 p.m. EST (GMT-5), Tuesday, February 28, 2006
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I'll know that you will plainly see
The biggest fool that ever hit the big time
#01)

When you walk
Let your heart lead the way
And you'll find love any day
#02)

He wears a smile
I wear a frown
And I can tell whenever he's around
#03)

I've lived my life in vain
Every dream has only brought me pain
#04)

Sunshine yellow, orange blossom
Laughing faces everywhere, yeah
#05)

I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday you'd leave me for somebody new
#06)

I know between the two of us her heart we can steal
Help me if you will
#07)

Bring a nickel, tap your feet
#08)

My buddy come to see me to give me a tip, tip, tip
I said, "Now listen here, friend, I tell you, I'm hip, hip, hip"
#09)

Elevator in the brain hotel
Broken down but just as well
#10)

I thought that love could never touch me
Yeah, I was ridin' high
And then my ivory tower toppled
And I tumbled from the sky
#11)

She comes with the light
Then goes with the night
Oh, my heart just yearns
But then comes the dawn
And she returns
#12)

For I know
He would not encumber me
#13)

But then she'd paddle out and try it again
#14)

I let you live in my penthouse
You said it was just a shack
I gave you seven children
And now you wanna give them back
#15)

Moon shine above on your sweet jungle love
For you my bolo is swinging
For you my love song I'm singing
#16)

I'm asking you
You can't fool me, 'cause I'm gonna know if you hide
And try to peek
#17)

Love sang its song for me
Then things went wrong for me
Nights are too long for me
#18)

He was spreadin' a new dance all around
In just a matter of a few days, yeah
This dance became the new teenage craze
#19)

Well, I did a double take the day I met you
My heart turned a flip as I stood next to you
And I knew right there I never could forget you
For you are my every dream come true
#20)

Girl, got to have a hundred, oh yeah
Yeeeaaahhheeeaaahhh
Got to have a hundred
No, ain't no use in fooling ourselves, honey
Lord!
#21)

You alone
Can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love
#22)

No, there's nothing I can do
But spend all of my time out of my mind
#23)

Seems to me we got to solve it individually, a-ah
#24)

I've tried so hard, hard to be patient
Hoping you'll stop this infatuation
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

Every time she loves me
Oh, yes, I'm bound to scream
Well, this time I'm rollin' and tumblin', talkin' all out of my head
Well, this time I'm rollin' and tumblin', man, I'm talkin' all out of my head
And when my baby shook me, man, I fell right out of bed
#T1)

Well, I went to my good doctor not so long ago
A-walkin' in circles and moanin' low
He looked at me and said, "Good Lord above,
Son, you need a vaccination"
#T2)

KING SIZE PUZZLER

                          E A R L Y H I P

Submission of an entry for this section is optional. Your participation
or performance has no bearing whatsoever on your quiz score or ranking.
Please note that the diagram and clues below have been designed to be
printed using a fixed-width font such as Courier.

Solve the 33 clues below (answers can be more than one word long), then
insert the answers' letters as marked into the accompanying diagram to
complete the given quote from a famous rock 'n' roller. To make this
cryptogram harder than other Puzzlers, the quote's missing letters are
labelled with two sets of numbers 00 to 99. Clues comprising 200 letters
lie below the diagram. Each of the clue letters is assigned a number "nn"
and belongs in the diagram, but the solver must determine into which of
the two diagram boxes marked "nn" it must be placed.

As a small amount of help, one letter in each diagram row is given. These
17 letters rearrange to form a spelling of the quoted artist's name. Once
the clue answers have been filled in, one of their columns will spell out a
valuable 45. Finally, the rearranged letters of one of the columns of the
solved diagram will spell out one of artist's big hits, which will suggest
what you can do with the completed Puzzler!!
