GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #248 (GOLQ248)

Welcome to GOLQ248, which is a lyric-based quiz, not sound clips. The quiz
has no special themes, but seems pretty easy, maybe because it includes
many personal favorites. Some of the lyrics are scanty, but will hopefully
be instantly recognizable anyway.

Enjoy!

Someone help me, help me, help me, please
#01)

Paranoia strikes deep
#02)

Suddenly the sun broke through (see the sun)
#03)

If you don't like rock and roll
Think what you've been missin'
But if you like to bop and stroll
Come on down and listen
#04)

Would you still find me
Carrying the pots I made
Following behind me
#05)

Bring your love to me
Don't send it
#06)

A bright red to turn it upside down
#07)

Before the day I met you
Life was so unkind
But you're the key to my peace of mind
#08)

If you want me to love you
Maybe I will
Believe me woman
It ain't no big deal
#09)

Well, people look at me and say
Hoo-rah, hoo-rah, is that your hat?
#10)

All I need is one of your smiles
Sunshine of your eyes oh me, oh my
Do I feel higher than a kite can fly
Give me lovin', baby, I feel high
#11)

Well, it's Saturday night and I just got paid
Fool about my money, don't try to save
My heart says go, go, have a time
Cause it's Saturday night and I'm feelin' fine
#12)

Today said the time was right for me to follow you
I knew I'd find you in a day or two, and it's true
#13)

And no one's getting fat except
#14)

Gray, gray,
My life is gray
Cold is my heart
Since you went away
#15)

Wear your wig hat on your head
#16)

Sometimes we walk hand in hand by the sea
And we breathe in the cool salty air
You turn to me with a kiss in your eyes
And my heart feels a thrill beyond compare
#17)

I'm not the only one who's in your heart
When I'm with you your love belongs to me
But you have someone else when we're apart
#18)

Yes, I am hoping, yes hoping that someday I'll be blessed
When you say I'm your only happiness
#19)

I run for the bus, dear
While riding I think of us, dear
#20)

And make believe it came from you
#21)

Like an old dusty road
I get weary from the load
Movin' on, movin' on
#22)

I wouldn't eat you ‘cause you're so tough
#23)

They say to me that there'll never be
No other love like you for me
#24)

And he said, "Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah"
("Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah")
Yes, indeed
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

This time I will try to show that I'm not trying to pretend
#T1)

Whether we're standing on your doorstep
Or sitting in a park
Or strolling down a shady lane
Or dancing in the dark
Where I can take you in my arms
And look into your pretty eyes
#T2)
