GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #317 (GOLQ317)

Welcome to GOLQ317! This quiz has an easily identifiable theme that should
neutralize the relative difficulty of this quiz. I was about 80% finished
with the quiz when I realized that about five to ten of the songs had a
common theme, so I went back to the drawing board, tabled the songs that
did not fit (which I will save for another day), and found replacement
songs, all 27 of which now fit the theme. Difficulty level of some songs is
due to my having to "dig deep" to find enough eligible songs, since many of
the more recognizable and more preferable candidates were ineligible due to
re-use rules. At any rate, this will tax your memory yet hopefully be fun
for everyone. Enjoy!

              Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4), Sunday, June 30, 2013
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This young world grows old
My darling, I'll adore you
#01)

Now that you're in the groove
You hear them all a-clapping as we both start to move
So come on, a-come on
#02)

Where angels fear to tread
#03)

She's my very special angel too
A fairy tale come true
#04)

What chases the blues when I am low
What gives me that tender loving glow
And what would I always cherish so
#05)

When they heard me saying
Please send me someone to love
Send the one I'm thinking of
#06)

And when you know He's near you
The Lord will always hear you
#07)

Your picture on my wall
Your letter on my bed
And darling, I recall
Everything you said
#08)

Then surely darling
The angels will sing
#09)

The first angel I'll recognize
#10)

But I just sit and wait
I'd rather concentrate
#11)

Find my lady fair
Does she dream about
The love we used to share
#12)

Won't you set my heart at ease
I want you, I need you, I love you
#13)

At the shrine of San Pedro
A maiden cried
For their true love was fated
Fated to die
#14)

Don't you worry your pretty head
I'll never let you down
I'll always be around
#15)

But a little angel
Who's making me lose my sleep
#16)

I could never stay away without you near
Because I love you, I love you, I do
#17)

Saw her walking down main street and I couldn't believe my eyes
It used to be such a plain street but now it's paradise
#18)

I was the one
I hurt the sweet thing that loved me
Oh what harm I've done
#19)

With your honey-drippin' lips
Your honey-drippin' lips
With your honey-drippin' lips
#20)

Gentle as a flower
Every waking hour
Warmed by your embrace
#21)

Well, I feel so proud
It's as good as walking on a cloud
#22)

Soon I'll hear the bells ring out
And the choir will sing out
When the pearly gates swing out
Ah, she'll beckon to me
#23)

Lace on satin
My little angel is getting married today
#24)

You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

If I said, "I love you,"
Would I be speaking out of turn?
I'm only human
But I'm willing to learn
#T1)

As I sit here tonight, the juke box playing
A tune about the wild side of life
As I listen to the words you are saying
It brings memories when I was a trusting wife
#T2)
