GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #320 (GOLQ320)

Welcome to GOLQ320. There are two different themes, but the same type of
thing relates the songs in the two themes to the other songs in that theme.
The tie-breakers are included in the themes. However, two of the regular
songs do not fit the themes, but their titles serve as clues to the themes
(one for each theme), if you haven't already guessed them.

Enjoy!

By day I make the cars
By night I make the bars
#01)

Do I have to tell you more
She came back to the boy next door
Who worked at the candy store
[Now this story has some more
You'll hear it all at the candy store]
#02)

You broke my heart
'Cause I couldn't dance
You didn't even want me around
And now I'm back to let you know
I can really shake 'em down
#03)

Can't carry on since you've been gone
Why don't you please, please come on home
Let's talk it over baby, baby, baby, baby
Let's talk it over one more time
#04)

I need your touch to comfort me
Your tender, tender arms that once held me
Without your loving your love inside
This house is just a place to run and hide
#05)

Hoping every day
Things would go my way
Then you came
Into my life
Now everything is fine
#06)

You make a pass at every girl that you see
Then when they hurt you
You come right back crying to me
#07)

Lonely nights that come
Memories that go
Bringing you back again
Hurting me more and more
#08)

When I had you to myself
I didn't want you around
Those pretty faces always seem
To stand out in a crowd
#09)

This feeling is too strong to hold
Any second now I'll explode
Now's the time
Now's the time
#10)

Open up a-honey it's your lover boy me that's knockin'
Why don't you let me in my sugar
All the cats are at the high school rockin'
#11)

Many dreams have been brought to her
They all tumble down
What does she want
Nobody knows
#12)

Can't forget the Motor City
#13)

You can call me up and have a date
Any old time
#14)

I don't like you
But I love you
Seems that I'm always
Thinking of you
#15)

Hey baby
Jump over here
#16)

Well the big, the little, young and old
They all need something to have and hold
When I found you I found that
You gave me lovin'
I can't forget
#17)

Her home is on the south side
High upon a ridge
Just a half a mile from the Mississippi Bridge
#18)

There's a train leavin' here tomorrow yeah
And I'll be a free man once again
Yes I will now
I'm so glad I served my time
I'm gonna meet that girl that I left behind
#19)

Why do you keep a-comin' around
Playin' with my heart
Why don't you get out of my life
And let me make a new start
#20)

Starting tomorrow
I keep tellin' myself
I'm gonna get out and find somebody else
Somebody that's sweet and kind
Who will erase you out of my mind
#21)

I'm tellin' you girls
You'd better look before you leap [yeah]
Still water sometimes is very deep
You'll be sorry when you discover
That you're just his pastime lover
#22)

How can I make [How can I make]
This dream come true for me [come true for me]
Oh I just got to know [got to know]
Ooh baby 'cause I love you so
#23)

I'm losing you and my happiness
My life is over I must confess
I'll never, never see your smiling face no more
I'll never, never hear your knock on my door
#24)

In a cafe
Or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you
But you never noticed me
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

Well I thought I knew just what she'd do
I guess I'm not that smart
Oh you tried to tell me all along
She'd only break my heart
#T1)

You shake me up
Break me up
Every time your lips meet mine
I get a poundin', poundin'
Ooh and I can't stand it, stand it
#T2)
