GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #328 (GOLQ328)

Welcome to GOLQ328. There are three mini-themes. All 27 songs, including
the tie-breakers, are part of at least one of the mini-themes.	There is
one song that is a two-fer (fits two of the mini-themes) based on the
criteria I used to determine if a song fits one of the mini-themes, plus at
least one song that would have qualified as a two-fer if I had expanded my
criteria.

Enjoy!

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #328
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
             Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4), Saturday, May 31, 2014
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well since she put me down
I've been out doin' in my head
#01)

A Cadillac a-rollin' on open road
Nothin' outrun my V8 Ford
#02)

Silver dollar
Rabbit's foot
With a four-leaf clover and a horseshoe
#03)

She'll cry just to think I'd really leave her
Though time and time I've tried to tell her so
She just didn't know
I would really go
#04)

You know you love me baby
Still you tell me maybe
That some day
Well I'll be blue
#05)

Night after night
I've been standing here alone
Weeping my heart out till cold gray dawn
Hoping that you're lonely and you'll come here too
#06)

Well yonder comes Miss Rosie, boy
How in the world do you know
By the way she wears her apron, boy
And the clothes she wooooorrrre
#07)

I'm puttin' you down baby
And I'm goin' my way
Forget about you baby
I'm leavin' to stay
#08)

Empty nights echo your name
Oh sometimes I wonder
Will I ever be the same
#09)

But things have changed
And I've found me somebody new
Someone to make me forget about you
And I'm tellin' you
#10)

Feel so bad baby
Oh it hurts me
When I think of how you love and desert me
I'm the broken-hearted toy you play with
#11)

I love you baby
And if it's quite all right
I need you baby
To warm the lonely night
I love you baby
Trust in me when I say
#12)

You loved me before
Please love me again
I can't let you go back to him
Please don't go
Please don't go
#13)

So take a good look at my face
You'll see my smile looks out of place
#14)

Ah those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be
#15)

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter anyhow
And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
#16)

For my darling
I love you
And I always will
#17)

Ah you said you'd be back in a big black limousine
But you know I'm inclined to believe that's not the kind you mean
'Cause when you're fallin' down off of your cloud
And you're just another face in the crowd
They're gonna throw you away like last week's magazine
#18)

Now the water's deep and wide
Can't hold out long this way
If I could spend a time
Perhaps I'd find a way
#19)

Your heart belonged to only me
But that was many tears ago
Now your love is just a memory
#20)

I would be runnin' but my feet's too slow
Young man rhythm got ahold of me too
#21)

Cannot mend this heart of mine
And I dare not drown my sorrow
In the warm glow of your wine
#22)

How could she tell he deceived her so well
Pity she'll be the last one to know
#23)

So you see
I really care-are-are
Without you
I'm nothin'
Oh, oh
#24)

Please please please please please
Tell me you're going to
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

Well I'm puttin' that cotton in 11-foot sack
Well I'm puttin' that cotton in 11-foot sack
Well I'm puttin' that cotton in 11-foot sack
With a 12-gauge shotgun at my back
#T1)

He said he'll be there right on time
He'll be there come what may
He'll take them to a puppet show
The little one can't wait to go
#T2)
