GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #336 (GOLQ336)

Welcome to GOLQ336. There is no theme, but some of the songs or artists
have things in common with each other.

Enjoy!

-- Regina Litman <golq336@GOLQ.org>

P.S. Corrections and additions to past GOLQs that I have done:

1. The area code for Memphis is not 913. It's 901. 913 is in eastern
Kansas, near Kansas City, MO. Still, I don't regret using a Memphis theme
in the month that started with 09/01 in 2013.

2. The people in eastern Kansas probably left their hearts in San
Francisco after the San Francisco Giants broke them by beating the Kansas
City Royals in the last World Series. When I sent out the Results and
Answer Key for GOLQ332, I forgot to mention that Tony Bennett is still
releasing new albums at the age of 88. His latest was done with an artist
with whom I am not familiar named Lady Gaga.

3. In the Results and Answer Key for GOLQ316, I wondered if Quincy Jones
was still Lesley Gore's producer when she recorded "Summer And Sandy". No,
her producer for that recording was Bob Crewe, who died recently.

Baby says she's mine
You know she tells me all the time
You know she said so
I'm in love with her
#01)

My mama told me when rumors spread
There's truth somewhere and I should use my head
But I didn't listen to what she said
#02)

There's a village
Hidden deep in the valley
Beneath the mountains high above
And there twenty years thereafter
#03)

Someone to hold (someone to hold)
Would be so peachy before we're too old
So please turn on your magic beam
#04)

All at once it happened
The prettiest in the world
I said a-won't you come over and a-talk to me
And be my girl
#05)

Play that song called "Soul Twist"
Play that one called "I Know"
Don't forget them mashed potatoes
No other songs will do
#06)

And here's the reason that I'm so free
My lovin' baby is through with me
#07)

What was the use of cryin'
You know I brought it on myself
There's no denyin'
But it seems awful funny
That I didn't understand
Until I lost my upright man
#08)

And I don't wanna be hurted any more (no more)
Any more (no more)
Yeah yeah I've loved so hard
Everything I did was no joy
#09)

You smiled, you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
#10)

And when I see the sign that
Points one way
The lot we used to pass by
Every day
#11)

Feelin' sad
Sugar hurt so bad
That's how it is girl yeah
Till it comes
#12)

Now he to-o-old you
That he'd love you much more than I
But he left you
And you don't, you just don't know why
#13)

Wyatt Earp and Big Cheyenne
Comin' through the TV
Shootin' up the land
#14)

If they gave me nine lives like an alley cat
I'd give them all to you and never take one back
#15)

Oh-oh-over and over
I try to prove my love to you
#16)

Girl I've tried to change your way of thinking
Tried to make you see
That
Livin' here with me
Is where you ought to be
#17)

Nighttime would find me in Rose's Cantina
Music would play
And Felina would whirl
#18)

I worry 'bout you baby
Spendin' nights in misery
#19)

In the end you'll still be you
One that's done all the things you set out to do
#20)

I'll hold you in my arms
For now and ever more
And we will walk together
Through love's sacred door
#21)

I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
#22)

I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
#23)

A change of scene
Was the most I bargained for
And then I discovered you
And in your eyes
I found a love that I couldn't ignore
#24)

It seems to me I've been here before
The sounds I heard and the sights I saw
Was it real, was it in my dreams
I need to know what it all means
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

You know I love you baby
Know I love you baby
You know I love you baby
And you don't even know my name
#T1)

Why you wanna put-a me down
Run my face into the ground
What did I ever do to you
To make you do the thing that you do
#T2)
