GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #344 (GOLQ344)

Welcome to the 25th anniversary edition of the Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz!
To mark this special occasion, a theme applies to the recordings used for
#01-#25. This should be a very easy quiz, even if you don't figure out the
theme. The tie-breakers are not part of this theme. They had an achievement
similar to the other songs, but not in the same place as them or to each
other. And here's a clue for you all--no more than one of them achieved
this in a setting originated by Billboard.

Year range: 1955-1969 (with potential chart entry in late 1954 or chart
continuation into early 1970) including the tie-breakers.

(If you have seen a prerelease version of GOLQ344, please note that songs
#01 and #06 have been replaced.)

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #344
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
          Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4), Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Someone, yes someone to love
Someone to kiss
Someone to hold
At a moment like this
#01)

Yeah you got that somethin'
I think you'll understand
When I feel that somethin'
#02)

I've made up my mind
To live in memories
Of the lonesome time
#03)

My daddy is sleepin'
And mama ain't around
#04)

Do the dance sensations
That are sweepin' the nation
#05)

He stood 6 foot 6 and weighed two-forty-five
#06)

Bells will ring
The-uh-uh sun will shine
Whoh-oh-oh I'll be his
And he'll be mine
#07)

Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
#08)

We just sit around and dream of those old memories
Ah but one of these days I'm gonna lay down tracks
#09)

Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone
But Judy left the same time
#10)

She was afraid to come out in the open
And so a blanket around her she wore
#11)

Ah, now I don't hardly know her
But I think I could love her
#12)

Jumped out of bed
Turned on the light
I pulled down the shade
Went to the kitchen for a bite
#13)

If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
#14)

And you tell me
Over and over and over again my friend
You don't believe
#15)

Oh now I'm gonna find her
For my heart is full of woe
We'll do the things together
We did so long ago
#16)

What's the use in tryin'
All you get is pain
When I needed sunshine
I got rain
#17)

What would I do
If he came back
And wanted you
#18)

I don't want no other love
Baby it's just you I'm thinkin' of
#19)

And the Lord said now that I've made a bee
I'm gonna look all around for a green, green tree
And he made a little tree and I guess you heard
What then well he made a little bird
#20)

When I'm ridin' 'round the world
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
#21)

Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
#22)

No love, love don't come easy
But I keep on waiting, anticipating
For that soft voice to talk to me at night
For some tender arms to hold me tight
#23)

Me and you
And you and me
No matter how they toss the dice
It had to be
#24)

Well he went on his way
And then what do you know
I saw him last night on a TV show
He was blowin' it out
A'really knockin''em dead
Playin' rock-n-roll music
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

A look from your eyes
A touch of your hand
And I seem to fly to some other land
When you are around
My heart always pounds
Just like a brass band
#T1)

Well, she's not too tall
Complexion is fair
Man she knocks me out
The way she wears her hair
#T2)
