GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #455 (GOLQ455):

Welcome to the December quiz!

To help you solve the quiz (by narrowing down possibilities), the first
letter of each song title, not including the two tie-breakers, spell out
an expression related to golden oldies. The two tie-breakers are related
to this expression. If you are familiar with Cool Bobby B of Sirius XM
radio's 50's channel, it may help you recognize the expression.

Do your living in a comic book
Be a Superman or a Captain Hook
(Aah-aah-aah yeah, aah-aah-aah yeah)
#01)

Funny, the hours seemed to go by so fast
I hope that this time won't be the last
I want to see you again
#02)

You'll go down in history
#03)

Love you every day girl
Always on my mind
One thing I can say girl
Love you all the time
#04)

And I need (you you you-hoo)
And I need (you you you-hoo)
In the morning baby (you you you-hoo)
When the sun go down (you you you-hoo)
Ain't nobody around sugar (you you you)
#05)

Tell me do you want my love
Tell me what you're thinking of
I've been waiting 'round so long
#06)

I knew, you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday you'd leave me for somebody new
#07)

Kiss me, oh so tenderly
And I knew this was love
And as I held you, oh so close
I knew no one could ever take your place
#08)

How I want ya
Like a ghost I'm a-gonna haunt ya
#09)

Tears pouring all down my face
(Nothing but a teardrop)
Ooh, the man's got me, so uptight
#10)

The tears I cried for you could fill an ocean
But you don't care how many tears I cry
And though you only lead me on and hurt me
I couldn't bring myself to say goodbye
#11)

One day we rode the mountain crest
And I went east
And he went west
I took to law and wore a star
While he spread terror near and far
#12)

Why do you skip when my baby's lips meet mine?
#13)

Soon your love will be all mine
Then I'm gonna take you home
Marry you so you won't roam baby
Marry you so you won't roam right now
#14)

He was poor as a beggar
But he rode like a king
Sometimes in the evening
I could hear him sing
#15)

Kiss me
Kiss me and maybe you will see
Paradise is waiting for you and me
#16)

I did you wrong
My heart went out to play
But in the game I lost you
What a price to pay
I'm crying
#17)

I spilled some ink on mommy's rug
I made Tommy eat a bug
Bought some gum with a penny slug
Somebody snitched on me
#18)

All of the world is a treasure
When you have someone to care
Promise me your love forever
We'll have the whole world to share
#19)

I took a walk with Mary Lou
We ran around to visit Sue
She had some boys I never knew
#20)

For it's true
You are my destiny
When you hold my hand
I understand the magic that you do
#21)

I was sittin' on the beach just gettin' a tan
When my buddy came up to me
He said you won't believe what's goin' on
But it's something that you've gotta see
#22)

I walk in shadows searching for light
Cold and alone no comfort in sight
Hoping and praying for someone who cares
Always moving and going nowhere
#23)

I'm so glad
So happy
To know that you're still mine (congratulations)
Congratulations
Together we share all the heartaches and tears
And I hope it will last for a very long time
#24)

Plays by intuition
The digit counters fall
#25)

------------------
   Tie-Breakers
------------------

I met you at a dance on a Friday night
Fell in love underneath the moonlight
We were having such a good good time
Never thought you were handing me a line
...
I should have listened to my friends that night
They told me not to walk you home and hold you tight
They told me you were just playing a game
And broken-hearted was your middle name
#T1)

I'd make you love me
I'd wave my magic wand
And suddenly you'd appear
And I'd cast my spell on you
And command you to love me true
#T2)
